Largely funded by National Lottery money, this new modern art gallery was opened in February 2000. Its unusual tower has a variety of oddly shaped windows, while the main building has six floors of art on display. Includes the Garman Ryan permanent collection.

The gallery is family friendly and hosts a range of free activities for children and young people in school holidays and throughout the year. Free community events at the gallery include Diwali Celebrations, Islamic Arts Festival, late night events and a singles.

The gallery is open Tuesday -Saturday 10am-5pm (and Bank Holiday Mondays) and 11am-4pm on Sundays. Admission to the Gallery is free
