In the heart of Southampton, the recently refurbished White Star Tavern offers 4-star luxury guest accommodation, free Wi-Fi, a lounge, a sun deck and an AA-award-winning bar and restaurant.

Located on Southampton's cosmopolitan Oxford Street, in the city's historic maritime district, the White Star Tavern has been completely renovated and returned to its former use as a hotel.

We're situated within easy access to ferries to the Isle of Wight, the train station to London, as well as great road links to explore the south coast and beyond. Southampton International Airport is a 20 minute drive, which serves 43 European destinations and with one of the largest cruise terminals in the world on our doorstep, this is the ideal base for exploring the UK and abroad.

There are now 13 en suite rooms, all individually designed and named after the ships of the White Star Line and the original J-Class America's Cup boats. The stylish and comfortable rooms feature king-size beds with soft Egyptian linen, stunning bathrooms with oversized showers, mini bars stocked with your favourite products and personal safes large enough for your laptop.

Rooms come equipped with the latest technology, including free broadband Wi-Fi and 19-inch flat-screen TVs with Freeview digital channels.

The White Star has received an AA Rosette for the outstanding preparation of its food and the good quality of the ingredients it uses.

There is street parking available directly outside The White Star. There are 48 pay and display spaces on Oxford Street and parking after 18:00 is free of charge, College Street Public Parking is located behind Oxford Street on College Street, which is just a minutes walk.

Restaurants and Bars
The White Star is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. The seasonal menu offers an exciting selection of modern British classics, making superb use of great local ingredients. The White Star has an AA Rosette, which the AA awards to 'excellent restaurants that stand out in their local area'. The bar and restaurant is a popular venue for regular guests. In the warmer months, many choose to dine al fresco. Breakfast is served from 07:00 until 09:30 (Monday to Friday), and from 09:00 until 12:00 (weekends).

Directions to The White Star Tavern Southampton
From M3 - When you arrive in Southampton from the M3 on the A33 into the city centre follow signs for city centre which is straight on through all the traffic lights and roundabouts until you reach the Charlotte Place roundabout with the Jurys Hotel development in the middle of it, at this roundabout take the 3rd exit onto East Park Terrace, through one set of traffic lights then you will come to a roundabout, take the second exit which takes you onto Queens Way, at the lights on Queensway turn left and then second right is Oxford Street. The White Star is on the corner of Oxford Street & Latimer Street.

From M27 – exit the M27 at junction 3 and join the M271 into Southampton City Centre, join the ring road Mountbatten Way into Southampton at the end of the M271, follow the signs to waterfront which will take you along West Quay Road, at the roundabout with the glass hotel on it take the 2nd exit on Town Quay Road, go through the lights and at the end of this road join the one way traffic on Orchard Place, take the first left off Orchard Place onto Briton Street, first right onto Queens Way, and right at the lights, the 2nd road on the right is Oxford Street.
